2021 Hwy 62 Open Studio Art Tours

Registration Announcement Email

Welcome back to the latest version of Hwy 62 Open Studio Art Tours.

The Fall 2021 Hwy 62 Open Studio Art Tours registration is open.

As some of you may have already seen before we postponed things, we will still be incorporating new changes previously outlined, such as:

  • No commission collected on your Art Tours sales
  • A downloadable app containing artist info found in the catalog plus studio mapping and artist list features
  • Three weekends Oct 9/10th, 16/17th, and 23/24th
  • No retail stores (only studio/store spaces where 50% or more of the main artist’s work is made.)
  • Increased space in catalog for artists’ listing, including multiple images.

BEFORE YOU SIGN-UP THIS YEAR:

With recent changes to the Art Tours, please review this checklist of what you need to have ready to fill out to sign up.

Completing the Registration Form

After following the above link, note in the left column the 14 registration options which are combinations of individual or shared studios, and one, two or three weekends. They will appear brighter in a few steps.

The Welcome letter at right (on the Registration page) includes important information, too.

When ready, click the REGISTER button at the bottom left of that page.

On the next page, enter the email address you used to join MBCAC.

Click the NEXT button.

On the next page you may click LOGIN which will then ask for your password, and then auto-populate contact fields to save time. If you don’t recall your password, you may reset it here.

If you receive an email “Event registration is not available for USER@gmail.com (or other email address) due to event settings,” it likely means you first need to renew or register for membership with the MBCAC. You can check your membership status here.

After logging in you will be given the opportunity to choose registration type. When you have made your choice, click NEXT.

Either review the auto-populated contact fields, or complete any blank fields for the registrant.

Catalog Info:

  • Red asterisks indicate required fields.
  • Each field’s instructions appear in italics.
  • This year we are limiting mediums to a maximum of two.

Brief Artist Statement

Enter up to 100 words maximum to tell visitors a bit about your views on your art and art in general. Be creative. This is not to be your curriculum vitae or a step-by-step list of how you make your art.

Finding Your Studio

A new field “Is your studio GPS friendly” tells us if we may state as such in the catalog.

The field “Include Directions?” offers you the options to omit directions (only if GPS-friendly), or enter directions, or have us enter last year’s directions. If you are entering directions, use this format:

Studio Directions Format to use, without bullets

  • From Hwy 62 in (MV, YV, JT, or 29P)
  • (compass direction N, S, E or W) on (road leading from Hwy 62) x miles (in tenths, using decimals)
  • (L or R) on (road name) x miles (to next turn)
  • Etc.

Example:

  • From Hwy 62 in JT
  • N on Sunburst Ave 3 miles
  • R on Golden St .5 miles
  • L on Border Ave .6 miles

(You can see a sample of last year’s listing and directions format here.)
