CANCELLED:

2021 Spring Hwy 62 Art Tour

To artists, patrons and our art community at large…

After intense discussion internally, we have made the necessary decision to cancel the Spring Art Tour for this April.

The main reason was, is and will continue to be the health of both our artists and visitors, with other recent factors making it clear that Spring is just not viable.

We’ve seen a significant drop in artist registration numbers, where we are at only 20% of previous tours sign-ups. Our advertising revenue has also taken a hit, with indications by many sponsors we spoke to that a Spring Tour is just not something they can support at this time, and certainly not at a level we need. We also now expect significantly fewer visitors to the area, which of course affects art sales.

Under these circumstances, a spring Art Tour would be a shadow of years past. Instead, we now look to October and celebrating our 20th Anniversary fall tour scheduled for three weekends:

  • Oct. 9/10th
  • Oct. 16/17th
  • Oct. 23/24th

Registration for fall is now live if you wish to sign up. And, if you already registered for the Spring Tour, you have the option to get a full refund or apply your fees to the fall tour. (Look for a separate email outlining those options.)

We also want to take a moment to remind everyone that we are currently looking for a fall Tour Director and Communications Director. Visit our jobs page here for more details.

We know these times are difficult, and are dedicated to providing the Art Tour experience you’ve known and loved.

From all of us here at the MBCAC, thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Your hosts,

The Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council.
